Keto Power Bowl

I came across this idea through a couple of Instagram pics and starting playing in the kitchen to design my own power bowl. This is such a simple meal to prepare and is a great option to prep ahead of time for work lunches. Once you have made the base, you can easily change it up with innumerable variations.

This power bowl is incredibly nutritious as well once I add broccoli sprouts and nutritional yeast. Broccoli sprouts have far more nutrients than regular broccoli. Nutritional yeast is an excellent source of B-vitamins. This bowl meets the keto macros as well with the high fat and very low carb values. It may be a little high on the protein, but you can level that out at your other meals.

Instructions
  1. Brown the ground beef in a pan. Add seasoning to taste as desired (salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, etc.). Drain fat and set ground beef aside.

  2. Cut bacon into small pieces and cook in pan until slightly browned.
  3. Add cabbage and coconut oil to bacon and sauté until desired tenderness.

  4. Combine the ground beef with the cabbage and bacon.
  5. Transfer to bowls or storage containers.

  6. Add broccoli sprouts, nutritional yeast, and avocado.

Recipe Notes

You will love this meal and the simplicity of it. If you are looking to add a little more fat or flavor, add some coconut, avocado, or olive oil to the bowl. You could always switch up the vegetable if you like. Cheese would likely be another great addition as well. You could also experiment with the meat choice and use ground bison or pork, minced fish, or even ground chicken (though it will greatly reduce the fat content).
