You’ve heard about keto, fasting, and losing weight. You’ve probably even thought it might be good to try. So why haven’t you started? Maybe you’re not really sure why you need it. After all, you are going to have to give up some foods that are near and dear to your heart. I’m going to show you why you need keto!
I remember nearly a year ago when I started keto, I wasn’t sure how long I would last. My wife thought I was crazy to give up bread, fries, and fruit. Though she was happy that it would mean my giving up candy and cookies. At the time I just wanted to lose some weight but didn’t fully understand all of the reasons for changing my diet. Now I wouldn’t go back, let me explain why.
Your Body Wants It
Eating keto, or something close to it, is what your body wants and is craving. Your body was never designed to consume so many carbohydrates and sugars. That is why so many in our society are insulin resistant or diabetic. That is a natural response of the body when overtaken by sugar.
I believe the body was designed to run on fat. It functions best when fat is the primary fuel source. The hormones are balanced, the brain is clearer, hunger and cravings are minimized or eliminated, and excess body fat is gone. This is what your body wants and craves.
Your Health Depends on It
Let me explain what happens when you stay on the path that you are currently on. Carbohydrate dependency following the standard American diet leads to chronic inflammation, severe insulin resistance, diabetes, obesity, Alzheimers and dementia, and of course cancer. What if I told you that doesn’t have to be your fate?
I’m not about to tell you that eating keto is going to cure every disease and problem in your life. However, it will greatly reduce the chances of diabetes, Alzheimers, and cancer. It will give you your health back. I am confident that you will have more energy, less aches and pains, reduced inflammation, little to no chance of diabetes, and tremendously reduced risk of cancer.
Sure, you will have to give up some of the foods that you love, but isn’t your health worth it? Plus, there are so many incredible substitutes that you won’t miss those foods most of the time. I promise that you will feel so good you won’t have any desire to eat them anyway.
Your Brain Works Best on It
Eating keto is an incredible way to feed your brain. The brain thrives on ketones over sugar. This is what keto is all about, providing your brain with ketones. When you starve your body of carbohydrates, it turns to burning fat for fuel. This causes the liver to be much more effective at producing ketones. Now the brain is able to function at optimum effectiveness.
Keto was first introduced as a diet to treat epilepsy in children. It is also currently used as a means of lessening the symptoms of Alzheimers and dementia. Even my wife who was diagnosed with epilepsy has since come off all epilepsy medications after going keto. Your brain works best with a low carb/high fat diet.
Whatever your thoughts are on the keto diet, I hope I have demonstrated why you need it. Whether you are just getting started, are interested in starting, or aren’t yet convinced–keto is for you! High fat and low carb is what your body needs and craves. It is where you can feel your best. Why not give it a try today?
